Usage analytics

We use first-party usage statistics to improve lessons and understand which activities students and visitors use. The instructor can see page visits, broad device categories, referrer hostnames, estimated browser/session counts, visible time, and selected simulation actions.

Public visitors receive a random browser identifier. If you have signed into Minitab, activity may be labelled with the name you supplied at login. These names are self-reported, and a shared browser can be used by different people. Analytics does not establish a verified identity or prove learning or attendance.

We do not record IP addresses, precise location, typed AI prompts, answers, keystrokes, audio or browser fingerprints in these analytics. Our hosting and storage providers may maintain their own operational logs. Usage data is stored in the site’s configured Upstash Redis database.

Reports cover the most recent 90 days. Daily records expire after 95 days, with a short buffer for reporting. Browser identifiers last up to 90 days; a session expires after 30 minutes without a tracking event. Clearing cookies or changing devices creates a new identifier.

Tracking respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control where the browser supplies them. You can also change the preference for this browser below. Turning tracking off clears its analytics identifier cookies; it does not erase earlier recorded activity.

This browser’s preference: allowed, subject to browser privacy signals.
