Heusler alloys

Place X, Y and Z on the four fcc sublattices, compare site arrangements, and check valence-electron rules. The model is a proposed ordering, not a relaxed or confirmed structure.

Half-Heusler with 18 valence electrons β€” the standard example of a closed-shell, semiconducting count (thermoelectric studies). Reference notes and lattice parameters are approximate summaries β€” check the primary literature before citing.

Cells

Half-Heusler XYZ Β· Y on 4c Β· F-43m (216). Same prototype with the roles permuted: X and Z form the rock-salt lattice and Y sits on 4c. Atom sizes show period only, not ionic or atomic radii. The 4d site is vacant.
